Jamie Martin

Chief Executive Officer

Has fifteen years experience in the Education industry around the world. He is a former Special Adviser to the UK Secretary of State for Education, the Founder and CEO of Africa’s first EdTech incubator (www.injini.co.za) and a former Education Specialist at the Boston Consulting Group.

Charlotte McCormick 

Chief Teaching & Learning Officer

A 2007 Teach First Ambassador, Charlotte became Teach First's Participant President after completing her teacher training. After 4 years at the organisation working as Head of Regional Development managing partnerships with Corporates, Trust and Foundations and HNWIs, she went on to become a founding SLT member and Associate Assistant Principal of Oasis Academy South Bank, an outstanding secondary school in central London. 

Soeleen Kaur

Master Teacher

A former Teach for India Fellow and experienced classroom teacher in low income schools in India. Soeleen helps English Direct design and iterate our practice problems, train teachers, and teaches lessons for us.

Shaysha Rastogi

Operations Management

Shaysha has joined as an Operations Intern with us, she is pursuing this internship as part of her studies. She has prior experience working with global teams and is a reliable, efficient, and smart worker. English proficiency.  

Nathan Pennington

Lead Developer

Nathan is a software developer with over 15 years of experience. He graduated from the University of North Texas. Not long after receiving his bachelors he received his TEFL certificate from Bridge Linguatec in Fuzhou, China. He continued to teach English in Southern China before returning to the USA where he worked as a developer. He currently resides in Cape Town, South Africa where he has done much software consulting for startups there and around the globe.

Saul Kemack

Master Teacher & Operations Management

Saul Kemack has joined the team as Lead Teacher and Teacher Ops Management. He is a native South African who received his Honors Degree in Dramatic Arts from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2019, where he spent a number of years working professionally in iconic South African theatres. In 2020, he completed his TEFL qualification at the Wits Language School, where he spent five months teaching English to adult students from the Congo. He has recently been registered onto the South African Council of Education (SACE), and is a keen and passionate educator.
